carseat canopy

my mom made the girls some carseat covers and we have loved them! they kept the girls warm and kept the germs out, however; its now summer and they were made out of flannel so the girls get too hot under them. i decided to make some thinner ones outta cotton. i found this tutorial on pinterest and it seemed fairly easy. and it was!

here is the original picture

and here are mine!
sorry not the best picture
green polka dots
blue polka dots.

i didnt take pictures to do a tutorial because the website was pretty straight forward. the only thing i did differently was round the corners so they would touch the ground. i also didnt use her measurements to place the ribbon. i just put it on the carseat and pinned where the ties should be.
it was so easy! the second one turned out better and faster cause i knew what i was doing but overall i loved the outcome

birth stats wall art

i saw this cute canvas on pinterest and loved it! i knew i had to make one.

i wasnt sure how i was gonna do it cause i didnt wanna pay 20 bucks to get it made. so i searched the net for DIY canvas' and found one that i thought i could do. here is the tutorial i followed.
i created  my own version at picnik.com. unfortunately the website is closing down in april. im so sad :(
then i found two 8x8 canvas at hobby lobby. they were originally $5.99 but i had two 40% of coupons so they were like $3.50 each.
i was then just gonna print the art off the printer on reg paper but i was scared cause everytime i use paper and mod podge it ripples and ruins it. so i found a website called mpix that printed 8x8 prints for $1.99. so i decided to print them on photo paper so it would be thicker and it worked out perfect!

so this is how i did it.
first i painted the edges of the canvas. i only did one coat because i didnt mind the look of the white peeking through, you could do another coat if you wanted it a solid color

then you mod podge the top of the canvas and the back of the picture. stick the picture onto the canvas. make sure its placed correctly then mod podge over the front of the photo and the sides of the canvas. you only need a thin coat.
the photo will look white, which is normal but it will dry clear. let dry about 20min and then apply a second coat. mine only needed 2 coats for me to be happy with it.

and heres what it looks like

and with the painted sides.

and this is where i hung it up at. i think they turned out great! easy and cheap :)

diaper pouch

so once again i forgot to take pictures of the steps and do a tutorial but the original does an excellent job at explaining it. so here is the original picture

and here is mine.
with diapers/wipes in it

i chose the full pattern style. it was really really easy to make. it was a bit bigger then i thought it was. if i just use a bigger seam allowance it would be just fine. i also didnt use fusible fleece i just used reg batting. but fusible fleece would have been alot easier so i recommend doing that. other then that it was pretty simple and self explanitory.
i made this cause i thought it would be nice for brent during church instead of carrying my diaper bag around and then leave it in the car the other days just for a quick grab :)

Free Printable

Such an easy and quick decorating idea; my bathroom had an empty spot and I had a black frame laying around so I printed this off.  I would like to put it in an 11x14 frame with a matte but for now and for free, it'll do.  There are a few other color schemes you can print off of this as well.
